November 19, 2019 News

Passware announces a new strategic partnership with the leading developer of forensic acquisition and analysis tools – BlackBag Technologies to provide full disk decryption in a new BlackLight release.

Passware, the leading expert in encrypted electronic evidence discovery and decryption, announced a partnership with BlackBag Technologies ahead of their upcoming release of BlackLight. BlackLight quickly analyzes computer volumes and mobile devices to shed light on user actions. With easy searching, filtering and sifting through large data sets, it’s simply the best option available for smart, comprehensive analysis.

“Partnering with Passware and providing support for full disk decryption with a known password for Bitlocker, Symantec Endpoint Encryption, and Veracrypt was a natural next step and an essential feature for our users,” explained Ken Basore, CEO of BlackBag Technologies. “As we work to continuously provide innovative software to our customers and implement their product feedback, incorporating technology partnerships into new releases is extremely important to us.”

The launch of BlackLight 2019 R3 will introduce the integration of Passware Kit Forensic to all users with active, current licenses of BlackLight. There will be no additional fees for the enhanced capabilities.

“In many digital investigations, one of the major obstacles is the inability to examine encrypted disks,” Passware, Inc. CEO Dmitry Sumin said. “We are excited to work with BlackBag Technologies to allow computer forensic professionals to conduct thorough investigations decrypting electronic evidence within BlackLight.”

The integration of Passware Kit Forensic into BlackLight is part of BlackBag’s ongoing efforts to partner with other industry leaders. Many users have requested that BlackLight provide a feature allowing the processing of BitLocker encrypted images and the ability to detect and process Symantec Endpoint Encryption. This functionality has been implemented with the integration of Passware; providing users with access to all the decryption features of Passware Kit Forensic right within the BlackLight analysis environment.

The new feature will be available in BlackBag’s latest release of BlackLight: BlackLight 2019 R3.
